| F.A.Q Can homeopathy help my __________ ?
The answer to this question is generally, YES. There are a comparatively
small number of conditions which are not likely to respond to the improved
level of health homeopathy can produce either because the physiological
changes are not reversible or because the level of health has become so
low that there is not enough energy to stimulate in order to recover.
Generally speaking, the longer you have had a condition, the more time you
should allow for resolution. Eczema in a child that has just begun and has
not yet been treated with steroids or other drugs would be expected to resolve
much faster than respiratory allergies that an adult has had for 20 years. Is homeopathy the same as herbal medicine and naturopathy?
No, homeopathy is not the same as herbal medicine. Some remedies are made
from plants that are also used in herbal medicine, however the preparation
of the remedies is what differentiates the two. In herbal medicine, plant
tinctures or other preparations are administered in much greater quantities
than in homeopathically prepared remedies. Homeopathy is directed at working
on the energetic level of the organism, healing from the inside out. Due
to the minute quantities used in homeopathic remedies, they are less likely
to act superficially, to result in side effects, or to need to be repeated
as frequently. Homeopathy is not the same as naturopathy, although some naturopaths do practice homeopathy. Naturopathic medicine is a broader umbrella of treatments which may include herbal medicine, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, flower essences, and other approaches that fall under the heading of alternative treatments. Why does homeopathy cost what it does? Does my insurance cover it?
Homeopathy requires more time than conventional approaches. It requires
a great deal of training to practice well and it requires a great deal of
individualization. For what you are getting, the cost is actually much lower
because we are looking at your health over the long term and helping you
become less dependent on needing health care in the future.
Most insurance companies do not cover services from a homeopath, although it is worth asking about and requesting. If enough people ask, perhaps they will eventually begin to do so as common practice. Homeopathic services may be eligible for claiming Medical Savings Reimbursement Account or Health Savings Account monies, you should check with your employer or MSRA/HSA representative.
