Everybody’s Guide to Homeopathic Medicines

A book by Dana Ullman and priced at $18.95

A terrific introduction to using homeopathic remedies at home for common ailments.

This book is well laid out and organized to make it easy to use.  There is an introductory chapter that explains the general concepts needed to use homeopathy effectively.  The chapers after this are laid out by area of complaint;  a chapter on sore throats, a chapter on colds and flu, one on earaches, etc.

At the back of the book there is a “materia medica”, which is a fancy old school term for a detailed description of the remedies one by one.  The materia medica section goes into more detail about each remedy than the sections that are laid out by complaint.

Most people consult the book when they have a specific acute complaint.  Say they have stomach flu, they go to the chapter about digestive complaints, read a short synopsis of numerous remedies, chose the few that look like they match their symptoms most closely, then turn to the materia medica and read about these remedies in more detail.

Many people have found that a book like this along with a remedy kit is able to help them quickly resolve many of the acute complaints that come up for them and their families.
